At Theatr Iolo we believe a childhood without creativity is no childhood at all.

Christmas is a difficult time of year for families living in poverty and this year will be harder than most.  

At Theatr Iolo we believe a childhood without creativity is no childhood at all. Creativity and play are essential for children to develop new skills and use their imaginations, as well as offering them new ways to explore the world around them. That’s why this winter we want to create and give away 200 creative play packs for children living in the most deprived areas of Cardiff.  

When putting food on the table is a struggle, it’s no surprise that families throughout Cardiff simply can’t afford to spend money on craft supplies such as scissors and glue. These items aren’t the everyday essential items that families with children need the most.  But we don’t want them to remain a luxury for the hundreds of children that live in poverty in our city. We believe that children need to be creative to thrive and we need your help to make sure that local families have this opportunity.  

By donating to our campaign, you will be helping us to create Creative Play packs that include staple craft materials such as glue, scissors and paper as well as a whole host of other materials to inspire children between the ages of 5 and 11. The packs will also include creative ideas and suggestions on how to use the materials.  

With your help we hope to raise enough money to make and give away over 200 packs for children in need in Cardiff this winter.
