Creative Play Packs

At Theatr Iolo we believe a childhood without creativity is no childhood at all.

Creativity and play are essential for children to develop new skills and use their imaginations, as well as offering them new ways to explore the world around them. That’s why Theatr Iolo has teamed up with Naz Syed from Ziba Creative to create a fantastic Creative Play Pack, that includes materials, equipment, lots of ideas, instructions and templates to inspire children aged 5 to 11.

In autumn 2022, Theatr Iolo were chosen as one of the Co-op’s local causes. Co-op members are now able to support the creation of even more Creative Play Packs, simply by shopping at their local store.

Here's how you can support us in three easy steps...
1. Sign up for a Co-op membership card in store or online 
2. Login to your account and choose Theatr Iolo as your local cause
3. Scan your membership card every time you shop!

When putting food on the table is a struggle, it’s no surprise that families throughout Cardiff simply can’t afford to spend money on craft supplies such as scissors and glue. These items aren’t the everyday essential items that families with children need the most.  But we don’t want them to remain a luxury for the hundreds of children that live in poverty in our city. We believe that children need to be creative to thrive and we need your help to make sure that local families have this opportunity.  With your help we can continue to raise enough money to make and give away more packs for children in need.  

We have also created a digital version of the kit available to download for anyone interested in getting creative and making lots of lovely items for yourself or as lovely gifts for friends and family.

Thanks to a Tesco Community Grant we were able to create and give away an additional 100 Creative Play Packs in November 2021.

Thanks to the Barrett Foundation we were able to create and give away a further 200 Creative Play Packs in September 2022.
