Theatr Iolo are looking for a friendly and approachable Audience Host to go on tour with our new production, Owl at Home.
The Audience Host will be responsible for:
Acting as the friendly face of Theatr Iolo for audiences whilst on tour
Liaising with the Front of House teams at the venue to ensure staff are ready and prepared to welcome our family audiences
Joining the venue Front of House team to welcome audiences to every public performance of Owl at Home
Helping venue staff with any unexpected events during our visit (for example, young children who wander onto the stage)
Engaging with young audience members to ensure they are placed at the centre of their theatre trip
Gathering feedback from young audience members and their families after the performance
Running post or pre-show craft workshops as required (all activity instructions / materials provided)
Ensuring audiences wishing to access our Audio Description service have an easy and positive experience.
Running pre-show Touch Tours with blind or visually impaired audiences (training provided)
Welcoming audiences using basic Welsh and British Sign Language as required (training provided)
Welcoming audience members with disabilities and / or additional needs to ensure they have a positive experience
Helping venues to set up and run ‘Relaxed’ performances for audiences with ASD / other additional needs
Facilitating post-show talks as required
Ensuring that audience needs are accommodated as required
You will need to be available between 27 September 2022 and 5 November 2022. Exact dates and times to be discussed, but as a minimum, you must be available for the following dates:

Thursday 27 October
Saturday 29 October
Tuesday 1 November
Wednesday 2 November
Thursday 3 November
Saturday 5 November
Fee: £1500 incl VAT. In addition to the fee, Theatr Iolo will pay for any accommodation and expenses whilst on tour.
