Kyle Lima
Kyle Lima is an actor, writer, singer and director, born and raised in the Splott area of Cardiff, South Wales, and is a Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, 2009 Alumni.
Since graduating, Kyle has had a successful career in Theatre, Film and Television, working with professionals such as Tom Morris, Artistic Director of the Bristol Old Vic and Emma Rice, former Artistic Director of both Kneehigh Theatre Company and Shakespeare’s Globe and current Artistic Director of the Wise Children Theatre Company.
Kyle’s on screen work includes Actor/Director Tom Cullen’s BAFTA Cymru nominated film Pink Wall, co-starring Emmy Award winners Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Jay Duplass (Transparent). Most recently, Kyle was seen in BAFTA winners Ruth Jones and James Corden’s acclaimed 2019 Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special and will be seen soon in the ITV drama The Pembrokeshire Murders opposite actor Luke Evans.
In 2018, Kyle was appointed as a BBC Writersroom Welsh Voices member and has collaborated with the BBC in developing scripts for radio and TV. This opportunity came to Kyle after he submitted a script based on his 2017 one man show Heart And Soul, written, performed and directed by Kyle, which took place at the Wales Millennium Centre. Kyle has written and performed for Sky Arts as part of the Sky arts ART50 program, filmed at the Barbican Centre, dealing with the issues of Brexit and Article 50. Kyle has worked with the Omidaze Theatre Company in collaboration with National Theatre Wales as a writer for the Talking Shop play development project. Kyle has also worked with The Fio Theatre Company, directing the A Night with Fio Young Actors Company. In 2019, after working with both Theatr Iolo and the Sherman Theatre, Kyle was appointed as an Associate Artist to both organisations. Following on from this, Kyle is also the Theatr Iolo’s Platfform Artist for 2020 and is currently developing work with Iolo to be shared with the public in the near future.
